2 nos – Pear, ripe yet firm
1 cup – Sugar
2 cups – Water
1 tsp – Vanilla extract
Boil water and sugar in a wide sauce pan.
Meanwhile when the sugar is boilng wash the pears well. Slice them really thin (2mm) vertically. Carefully drop the pear slices into the sugar syrup. Cook them for 5 mins.
Preheat the oven to 120°c. Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
Once the pear look cooked, carefully, very carefully pick them up using tweezers and lay them on the baking tray.
Bake them for an hour in the oven. Flip them and bake them again for an hour till they crisp up really well. Keep sn eye on them as you do not want to burn them.
